Atmospheric and Aeronautic Lidar

Published by Basic Air Data on April 12, 2019April 12, 2019

Aeronautic Lidars share the same working principles of atmospheric lidars. There is this article ” 1.5µm Lidar anemometer for True Air Speed, Angle Of Sideslip and Angle Of Attack measurements onboard Piaggio P180 aircraft ” available online that offers a good level of detail on the topic. You find some picture and technical information, worth a read through. Of course, it will be fascinating to play around with a DIY version of such hardware 🙂

Regards,

Erik
